FAQ

You used to make [INSERT PEDAL NAME] but it's not on your site anymore. What gives?
As a small team we simply don't have the time to produce everything we want, so we try and limit designs to what aligns with our current mission and goals. Some of those old pedals may see a new day in a different format.

Is it in stock?
A pedal is in stock and ready to ship unless it says "Out of Stock". We ship two or three times a week. Depending on when Jeff can get to the Post Office.

What is your warranty?
Our warranty is simple: If your pedal stops working for whatever reason we're happy to take a look at it and if it's an easy fix, we'll do it no charge. If we're at fault, then we will certainly fix or replace parts or pedals as necessary. If there is damage due to obvious user error or abuse, then we will discuss the costs to fix it on a case-by-case basis.

What's your return policy?
Every pedal we ship comes with a 14-day return policy. All we ask is that everything is returned in completely original condition with original packaging and materials. To start a return, shoot us email on our Contact page. If everything checks out, we will refund your original purchase price minus merchant processing fees and the cost of shipping.

Where are you located?
From the land of pleasant living. Baltimore, Maryland

Will you lie on a customs form for me?
No.

Can you make a custom version of one of your pedals?
No.

Can you make a custom pedal at all?
We do not make custom one-off pedals, but we are capable of custom circuit design and contract manufacturing. If you would like to find out more about our design and white-labeling services, please send us an email on our contact page.

Can I use higher than a 9V supply?
No. We build our pedals to get the maximum headroom out of a 9V supply meaning there would be little improvement AND - this is a big AND - ANYTHING HIGHER THAN A 9VDC SUPPLY COULD DAMAGE THE PEDAL AND VOID WARRANTY.

I really want to use a crappy power supply.
Please don't. A One Spot in good condition is the minimum we would feel confident with on stage regardless of the pedal we're using. But any legit pedal power supply from the usual suspects is good enough. If you're not sure just shoot us a message.

Why don't your pedals typically accept a 9V battery?
We put an awful lot of effort to cram in all those features into these boxes and there simply isn't room for a battery along with all that huge bass tone. Besides, batteries are bad for the environment so we are happy to do our part in eliminating e-waste when possible.

Who the Hell are you?

Jeff Davis (Partner) spent years tweaking circuits and wanting to share what he was building. The reaction to his first release, the original MBD-1, was more than he could have hoped for and he launched Damnation Audio in 2016. Jeff builds only what he can't find for himself. If it doesn't further his cause or the greater human experience, then he would find it hard to work on it all day.

Dave Gill (Partner) has been around for a while but we made it official at the start of 2023. He has been designing and building musical instruments and gear for 15 years and plays guitar and bass in a bunch of heavy bands. If you come to Baltimore, he will take you to places you've seen in The Wire.
